Crucifixion

Hung on a Tree

  • And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of Elohim;) that thy land be not defiled, which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance. (Deu 21:22-23 RNKJV)
  • For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of YHWH, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. The Messiah hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Yahushua the Messiah; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is the Messiah. (Gal 3:10-16 RNKJV)
  • For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of YHWH in him.  (2Co 5:21)
  • For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of YHWH is eternal life through Yahushua the Messiah our Saviour. (Rom 6:23)

Sign of the Covenant

  • I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith YHWH, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.  (Rev 1:8)

The Hebrew equivalent of Alpha Omega is Aleph Taw.  When we look at the Hebrew meaning of these characters that make up this word we see that Taw corresponds to our t in English. The meaning of the Tau is Sign, Mark, or Covenant.

  • Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in mine hand. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And YHWH said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it YHWH-nissi: For he said, Because YAH hath sworn that YHWH will have war with Amalek from generation to generation. (Exo 17:8-16 RNKJV)
  • And YHWH said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. (Num 21:8-9)
  • And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (Joh 3:14-15)

The first occurrence of the word faith (Emunah, Strong’s #530) in the Bible is in Exodus 17:12 where it is translated “steady” as in unwavering. It is in this setting where Moses depicts the cross scene on a hill with Aaron and Hur on his left and right sides. Moses forms the shape of a Taw, The Cross, as Aaron and Hur assist him to hold up the Nissy (his rod or pole, banner) with both his hands so Yahushah (Jesus) could defeat Amalek with his sword. Truly it is at the cross that our faith in the New Covenant of YHWH begins and we first see the light of the blood stained banner written in the blood of the Son of God.

aleph

Aleph means strength or first. AHLB

  • And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto YHWH, and to his throne. (Rev 12:5)

  • But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
    (Mat 19:30)

So now when we look at how the events occur we see that the first was last and the last will be first. While many were expecting a conquering King that would remove them from the bondage of the existing political system they got instead the suffering servant that would redeem his people from their sins.  The Aleph even resembling the horns of the Vikings which later would inspire the metal crowns we see on the heads of royalty reflects the coming back of the Messiah as the conquering King that will rule with a rod of iron.
